Data sources

Every figure on this site comes from an imported public dataset. Boards state which source and period they use; nothing is modelled or estimated by us.

Nigeria — National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)

Food prices, fuel and cooking-gas price watches, transport fares, and the Consumer Price Index are published by the NBS as periodic releases and workbooks, distributed through the NBS eLibrary and the NBS microdata catalogue. The site imports those published tables; the figures are the source’s own averages for the stated period.

The NBS terms of use still need review before redistribution at scale; figures are republished here with attribution for reference. Public CSV downloads are disabled by default pending that review. NBS state averages are whole-state aggregates — they are not LGA, city, or market-level data.

Exchange rates

Mid-market USD/GBP/NGN reference rates are imported from ExchangeRate-API (open access endpoint) and cached between imports. The displayed rate is a reference midpoint, not the rate a bank or transfer service will quote.

World Bank

Purchasing-power-parity context comes from the World Bank Indicators API (indicator PA.NUS.PPP for Nigeria), used under the World Bank’s CC BY 4.0 terms with attribution.

United States — HUD Fair Market Rents

US rent benchmarks come from the HUD User Fair Market Rents API. This product uses HUD User data but is not endorsed or certified by HUD User.

Nigeria — housing market aggregates

Nigerian rent and sale-price records are dated, documented market figures rather than an official housing index. Nigeria Property Centre Market Trends figures are limited aggregate median asking rents and asking sale prices used with permission, refreshed from fixed aggregate pages during a monthly import, and linked back to the relevant NPC Market Trends page. Asking figures are not achieved transaction prices, and NPC data is not presented as an official valuation. See methodology.

Import status

The served period and retrieval time describe the snapshot actually in use; a failed check does not remove it.
